Otex didn't send enough people to move a big sideboard and it took 3 goes and some weeks before it eventually got here.
The packing was very poor and during the move 6 items of a Rosenthal china service were broken. I send a picture immediately and have claimed £105 replacement cost although I know I am very unlikely to to be able to replace them. The reaction is very negative and I am told that I, not they, am responsible for the first £250 excess on the insurance. Do not use Otex.

Muneeb to the house to provide the estimate on the same day as I made the initial enquiry.
Exchange of contracts on our house sale/purchase took much longer than planned, reducing the time to completion and leaving us with little ability to confirm the actual moving dates. Muneeb in touch throughout and was very accommodating over the uncertainty.

Our move was from a 5 bed house in which we had lived for about 20 years, to a 4 bedroom house about a mile away, and showed just how much stuff a family accumulates over the years! Muneeb and a team of 3 turned up just after 9.00 AM on day one with 4 medium sized vans. They were polite, friendly, fast and efficient; nothing seemed a problem and they always asked questions on anything they were in doubt about. They packed everything, moving from room to room, and progressively loaded the vans until it rained at about 4.00 PM, when they suggested leaving the rest until the morning when the forecast was better. With our agreement the 3 loaded vans were left overnight on our drive.

On day two they turned up at 10.00 AM and finished the loading by about noon. Completion was at 12.30 PM and the unloading started at 1.00 PM. With one of us at the van with Muneeb throughout, almost everything was delivered to the right room and the off-load was complete by 4.30 PM, including all the wardrobe boxes being unpacked into new wardrobes.

Muneeb and his team made this move as stress-free as possible. They stayed until we were happy with the position of all the furniture. They reassembled anything they had taken apart. Nothing was broken. And they left the boxes for us to unpack at our own pace (and over a week later we are now ready to have the boxes collected).

I would happily recommend Muneeb and Otex Removals to anyone facing a similar move.

The person that came to our flat to provide a firm price was professional and polite. He was helpful and gave us quite a lot of confidence in our choice to use otex. Unfortunately that's where the positive experience ended.

Otex were unable to deliver our boxes and packing materials on the day requested because they'd had a cancellation. I had to arrange for them to be delivered to another address because we were fairly desperate to start packing. As only half the boxes were delivered we were promised them the next day. Unfortunately we had to wait three more days as the delivery driver forgot them.

On moving day the removals guys did turn up on time, however they were fairly unfriendly. We were expecting one large truck, instead two ex Tesco home delivery vans turned up. When the guys took a break to get a coffee from a local garage, they left the removals vans unlocked on the road in front of our block of flats with half our belongings in them. They also propped open doors with boxes that had 'FRAGILE' tape stuck all over them and didn't care whether fragile boxes were stacked at the bottom of boxes in the trucks.

When we set off to the new house we told the removals guys that we needed to drop keys off at the letting agent so would be delayed driving. However, they still proceded to ring us when we weren't at the house before them and complained that it was late and that they needed to be getting back. Apparently their excuse for this was that no one had told them we were moving 200 miles. Even though it was in the paperwork for the day that I signed.

When they unloaded the vans they refused to take any items into the loft despite us clearly telling the guy that came and quoted for removals that the new house has a loft room, with permanent stairs that items would need to be taken up. They ignored my requests to be careful on newly decorated areas and scratched new wooden floors.

In terms of damaged items, bikes were scratched, furniture was dented and chipped, a set of garage shelves was completely demolished and broken. Furniture that they took apart and put back together again is missing parts (dining table legs missing washers, screws to desks missing), they lost the legs to the sofa which they took thirty minutes to located in the back of the van after telling me I had them.

I asked them to quote for an end of tenancy clean. They were then very pushy at demanding cash for this after we had moved, despite no one having got back to me to tell me if they could even do an end of tenancy clean. Based in their removals performance, I declined.

1/10 would never use again.

Otex removals arrived a little before time and were good natured and efficient throughout. I had disposed of a lot of furniture prior to the move because I was downsizing. I was a little worried that the van they arrived in was too small but they looked around and reassured me and everything fitted perfectly. Team worked very well together and we were soon on our way, where they tirelessly moved everything off. We moved with them ten months ago and meant to leave a review at the time. They contacted us quickly for the quote, came out and did an assessment and supplied the most competitive quote of the three firms we contacted. We were moving the contents of a family home 200 miles they started work at 07:30 with a team of four and worked through until 4pm packing and loading up the lorry. Always good humoured and very hard working. The company were happy to drop some of our contents at a storage place and the rest to the new property and were just as efficient in unpacking. Really grateful for excellent job and friendly, great team even when we had more stuff to pack than it appeared..

Would definitely recommend and would love to use again for our second planned move!

I made a provisional booking over the phone with one of the other companies suggested by Otex Removals about the job as he had left me a friendly voicemail on my initial enquiry.
He only gives a quote after visiting the house to view the contents and was prepared to come on a Sunday if necessary as time was short, which impressed me.

He was incredibly friendly and easy going, and very efficient and reliable, sending me the quote next morning as promised. It was a good as expected but after meeting him I trusted him with my stuff and decided it was worth it - you usually get what you pay for.

I was very glad I did Otex and his two guys were incredibly speedy and efficient on moving day, and cheerful and lovely throughout. They were very careful with all my breakables and very tolerant of us still packing the last few bits and pieces as they were removing boxes into the truck at a rate of knots around us.

Moving is very stressful and very hard work - I would seriously recommend having Otex. It'll make the whole experience a whole lot more pleasant and your stuff will arrive in tact and in the rooms in the new house where you want it. Otex Removal every time.

The guys from Otex Removal were nothing short of fantastic. We moved from Slough to Guilford area over the last week. We opted for a full packing service and this option is highly recommended. Not only does it relieve the stress of packing for you but with two small children in the house there was no way we could have done it ourselves at the time. In fact that option was very competitive in comparison to other removal agencies. I did get two further quotes - one from a large well known removals firm and the other from a local company. Having looked at the customer reviews for both these agencies I avoided them Otex Removal is an excellent website and allows rapid identification and communication with removal agents. Otex Removals were honest, prompt, friendly, extremely polite, hardworking, respectful, and very considerate to our belongings. I would like to say a big thank you to team for making a stressful event pass without incident.

I was moving a 2 bed house from Leeds to Cambridge and found John firstly to be very competitive in costs compared to others I contacted. He came out to visit so he could provide an accurate quote and that gave me the chance to describe my requirements in more detail, and we agreed a fixed cost for the move and the dismantling and rebuild of my bed and wardrobe at the other end. On the day they were prompt and efficient and took some to load up and on the road. Highly recommended. Punctual, quick, efficient, friendly, and reliable. As well as moving all my items, Ed disassembled and reassembled some tricky furniture that would have taken me hours to do. Otex Removal was also the cheapest of my three quotes so excellent value for money. All in all, would recommend, and wish their business all of the best.

By nature I'm a bit of a worrier and before going with any moving company I whittled it down to three companies (including some well-known bigger companies), but Otex Removal were the only company to bother actually visiting my flat to see exactly what would need to be moved so they could give a thorough and reliable quote. Really impressed with this as I've heard horror stories from friends/family who have had removal firms turn up on the day and charge more, as there were more items to move than they expected. I decided to go with Otex Removal as I felt like they were a company I could rely on after meeting John and I wasn't disappointed.

They kept in contact with me up running up to the move and was always available to answer my texts/calls should I need anything (or if he wasn't he'd call me back). On the day, the three lads showed up on time and were absolutely brilliant - really friendly, polite and helpful. Quite funny too and brought a bit of humour to what is a very stressful time. These guys were very professional, courteous and strong. They arrived bang on time on the removal day, had us all packed up by lunchtime and into our new house by 3pm. We moved large delicate items like flat screen TV and a glass topped dining table all of which arrived undamaged. The guys took time to protect our new carpets when we arrived at the new house and generally made what we were told would be the most stressful day of our lives, actually enjoyable! I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. I called them on Tuesday asking for an office relocation on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I awaited the laughter but 'happy days' indeed – Muneeb told me he'd do it on Sunday.
They moved an office of ten (10 desks, chairs, computers, monitors, filing cabinets, book cases, cupboards, and so much more, including meeting room of 7 desks and 30 chairs plus kitchen items and equipment) in 4 hours. Staggering speed but always with care, communication and courtesy. Nothing was too much for them and price wise, well, you won't beat them either.

Friendly, courteous and hardworking crew. Punctual arrival, careful packing and removal - exactly what we wanted. Buy the guys a beer - they really delivered on the day! Dave, Mick, Mike, Andy and Brian were all brilliant - we were really pleased with how fast we were packed and removed. The access and the nature of the house at the delivery side was quite challenging and they worked very hard to get everything where we needed it to be, whilst remaining courteous and friendly. Really very impressed indeed with the entire crew. You exceeded it. I don't think we have anything damaged at all, the houses at both ends were kept clean and damage free.
You were almost exactly the same price as another company we contacted, who were also very professional and BAR accredited. However, the thing which tipped the balance was Ernie's attitude to solving the access problems (narrow road) at our new house. Whereas the other company gave lots of "ifs" and "buts" and "possibly", Ernie simply said he'd divide the move into two smaller vans instead of one big one. Problem solved in one sentence. That gave us the confidence to choose Otex Removal.

Surveyor visited us to assess our needs etc and projected a professional image. The detailed quotation was emailed to us promptly assuring us of your companies level of capability.

We felt that your company were professional and competitive. The team worked well together particularly during the loading process each member knowing what to do next. The additional staff that were drawn in on the unloading point worked conscientiously throughout. The team leader coral took command of the procedure and everyone knew what was required. He communicated well with both my wife and me. Very helpful & professional. They were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, they made our move go very smoothly.

Deol and mark were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They were always polite and listened to our requests. We were worried that we would disturb other residents and so they were quiet and made sure doors did not slam. They were very careful with the sofa and arm chairs and also making sure that they did not mark the fresh painting on the walls of the new flat. They packed everything with care into the van. I would certainly recommend them to anyone. It is possible that the whole job could have been done in one day, therefore making it cheaper. The whole team were both professional and efficient throughout the whole day. We found everyone to be friendly and extremely hardworking. I chose Otex international because the reviews on the website were really good, the costing was very reasonable in fact it was cheaper than I expected as I had a more expensive quote from a local company from Rhyl North Wales, so I decided to go with a local company .A really good service provided I was pleasantly surprised as you don't really know what to expect, they talked me through what I needed to know and all information was relevant to me. Can I recommend that a contents lists is attached to the front of the boxes [when using the packing service]. I appreciate that you re-use the boxes and do not want to deface them but faced with unpacking lots of boxes that you do not know what is inside is daunting . As my house was smaller than the one I had left, I instructed your packers to pile the boxes up in the garage. The briefest description was written on the cello tape on top of each box, so obviously I could not possibly know what was in each box as they were piled on top of each other. I have no complaints about your packers, I assume they did what they were trained to do. The team were very professional but friendly and efficient. They wouldn't let us lift anything - if we did they took it from us and told us "we'll do that for you". The team made it as stress free as possible for us.

The three removal crew excellent, I was at our new address which meant that my wife was alone during the loading of your vehicle. They made sure that she was happy with all aspects of the moving and loading of our furniture.
They would move our furniture without any problems. Professionalism in moving our possessions.

OTEX is cheap and you'll discover why. Although the team work very hard they had not been allocated sufficient time to do the work properly so they cut corners. Boxes were not labelled clearly; boxes were not allocated to the right rooms; books were thrown into boxes and damaged; carpets were left filthy; the lawns were driven over by the lorries hence I had to have them totally re-done. While I applaud the team they should have been allocated more staff or time (what happened was not what the surveyor promised).

I would like to describe my experience with OTEX with one simple word; FANTASTIC. The movers were extremely professional. I was very nervous about my move initially because of the distance involved and the amount of stuff I had which included few of the valuables which I inherited from my parents. I took the option of full packing and unpacking service and everything was packed in a secure and professional manner and unpacked exactly as I wanted. Thank you so much for everything.

Really poor service from OTEX. They weren't the cheapest option but we went with them because we wanted a professional service with no fuss, and initial contact (including when someone came round to give a quote) was slick and reassuring.

The actual move was the complete opposite, however. The day before the move, we were cajoled into paying for an additional man for the team because we couldn't be 100% that the lift in our new place would be working.

The team that turned up were careless in packing and moving, with walls scratched ('oh but the corridors are so narrow' - they're not narrow at all), a dish broken ('oh but we wrapped it in paper') and the flooring in our old place torn when the bed was lifted ('oh but it must have been torn before' - it certainly wasn't).

After speaking to them on the phone and following up with an email four weeks ago, I still haven't heard back about how they intend to compensate us for any of this.
